Primarily, art is communication, in my opinion. My paintings are included in one or more of these three categories: to describe and give information, to decorate, or to express an emotion. Along with these goals my idea is to produce a work that the viewer ( including this writer) is in some fashion, glad to have seen.
Art is also a celebration of life for me. And art is entertainment! Art has the capacity to lift the spirits and take us past the mundane, perhaps visit a bit of fantasy or touch base with the past! Art can provide food for thought or inspire us with spiritual content. Anything manmade requires decisions as to shape, form, or color so this would suggest art for everyone, be it to practice, to decorate, to express and ENJOY!
