Nancy Goehring is a self-taught botanical artist who works in watercolors. Her extreme close up paintings of flowers and leaves aim to capture the simple beauty of nature and the amazing power of light to transform the way we experience it.
Born in Lexington, VA, Nancy’s strong connection with nature flows from an upbringing saturated with organic forms and colors. The purity of simple subject matter combined with an innate sense of color results in work that resonates with harmony.
Nancy has painted avidly ever since the age of 6, and received her degree in Fine Art from Mary Baldwin College. After raising three daughters and teaching kindergarten, she has decided to turn her passion into her profession. Her portfolio includes still life and botanical paintings, and the occasional chicken, which are all based on her own photographs from her travels.
