It is light and color that attracted Dianne to watercolor. In her forties, she began to paint with the same delight, discovery and joy of childhood. The world appears to her in watercolor. The light comes from within and the colors play on the surface. To Dianne, art is an essential part of living at every age.
In 2008, Dianne's work was commissioned by President George W. Bush for the State of Georgia ornament to be hung on the White House Christmas tree. It is now archived in the Smithsonian Museum. In 2012, her watercolor "Market Basket" was commissioned for First Lady Michelle Obama to be presented to her by the Senate spouses at their annual luncheon.
Dianne has studied under noted artists Debra Nadelhoffer, Gail Novak, Charles Reid and Charles Sovek. Apart from Frameworks Gallery, Dianne's paintings have been included in exhibits at the Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts in Tallula, the Burton Gallery in Clarkesville, GA and the Theatre in the Square in Marietta, GA. In 2011, she was chosen as a solo artist for an exhibit at the Strand Theatre, also in Marietta, GA.
Her work can be seen at Burton Gallery and Emporium, 150 Burton Dam Rd, Clarkesville Ga, 30523, and Frameworks Gallery, 1205 Johnson Ferry Rd Suite 110, Marietta, Ga 30068.>
