Jane Langley

Born and raised in North Shore Boston, Jane is primarily a self taught artist. She painted a few pictures for friends and family at an early age with no instruction. Attending U Mass in the early 1980’s, she took drawing classes and produced several works. Although she felt she had a talent for artistic achievement, she did not see art as a viable occupation at that time. Instead, she left college to start her own business. Later she married and together with her husband has been in business for over twenty seven years. Presently Jane resides in Peachtree City, GA.

Years later she picked up her brush and started painting again by trial and error. She reads, researches and visits galleries and museums to build up her knowledge base.

Mentoring with other artists has helped her greatly.

On returning to painting in 2001 Jane shares:
“My neighbor in Peachtree City has a passion for gardening and her passion inspired me to paint a picture of bird houses in her back yard. When her husband came down with a long term illness, I presented them with the picture as a gift. It was my first painting in over 20 years. It was also my first oil on canvas. The painting was well received, and with the encouragement from friends and family I keep painting.”

"When inspired to paint, I like to capture the moment and interpret the mood, focusing on the detail of a true to life image. My style is realistic, yet not hyper realistic. I am continually learning new styles and techniques and enjoy the challenge of translating what I see onto a canvas."
