S. Claudia Lang Pitts
Claudia Lang Pitts is a graduate of Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs and holds a Master of Public Affairs. She has lived in Atlanta, Georgia approaching three decades. She loves the arts from theatre, photography, creative writing, music, drawing to painting. Her artistic journey began when she visited the Art Institute of Chicago as a college student.
“I am inspired by the natural beauty of the human existence that can be seen through the eyes of an artist and captured on canvas, whether the subject is a vibrant dancer or an aging grandfather. I love painting from life, the realism that comes from a model that helps you to connect with the human spirit or ‘Plein Air’ allowing you to spend time outdoors connecting with nature, absorbing the environment surrounding you.”
Claudia is a member of the Portrait Society of America, studies under a Master Artist, and has received numerous honors for her artwork at the Fulton County’s “Evening of the Arts.”
Joining the ‘community of artists’ after spending decades as a business professional is an emotionally rewarding experience for Claudia. Figure painting in oil is her favorite artistic endeavor.
“Oil painting fully satisfies my artistic personality and provides the vehicle to help me stay engaged with people and nature. I love the oil paint’s radiant colors, how it blends, its forgiving qualities when changes are necessary, its slow-drying properties that allow me to develop my work gradually, as well as its long-lasting durability. Plein Air painting allows me to be one with nature while exploring Georgia’s parks and experiencing God’s work in its magnificent glory.”
Claudia’s ‘Spa’ collection is available in fine art archival prints and Giclee gallery wrapped canvas of various sizes.
