Tina Ciranni is an Atlanta-based mixed-media artist who combines her eclectic upbringing and education, from her youth on her grandmother’s farm in Alabama, to the lights, sounds and cityscapes of Atlanta. And with her degree in Computer Science Engineering and years of art study, she creates pieces that portray a personal journey of contraction and combustion, synchronicity and disarray. Her works can be found throughout the U.S. and Europe including New York, Los Angeles, Germany and London. She has also shown in various galleries throughout the Southeast, including the DeFoor Centre, Twelve Gallery, Soda and the Atlanta Artists Center. Further, she has also collaborated with MJ Hampton Design who has commissioned her work for interior design projects. Her work has recently been made available through the Fine Art Marketplace to the trade and general public.
In her own words, “I paint from real life; my life to be exact. I like to reflect on my life to see what worked; what didn’t; what circumstances affected my path; and what occurrences altered my point of view forever. All of the tools I choose – ripped pages from psychology and computer science manuals; chemicals which I have little to no control over how they will react and what their combined outcome will be; found objects including my grandmother’s aged dress patterns and old posters of the periodic tables of elements, plus acrylics, alcohol, salt, etc. - help me portray a multi-layered journey in which my actions have caused reactions; in which accidents happen and create something wonderful; and in which my editing has allowed me to get rid of the bits that are no longer useful and give prominence to the parts that are. It is an external view into the inner struggle between logic and beauty; science and poetry; the elemental nature of a person and the one in which society seeks to create.”
